The best thing about this year was going to the STATE track meet!
The hardest thing that I have accomplished was one of the track practices. It was a hot and dry day, and our coach assigned us to run six 400 and then sprint a 200. My legs were so wobbly and my head felt so light headed.
This summer I plan to go on vacation to either Mexico for two weeks or Alabama. Then I plan on getting a job and hopefully work the rest of the summer.

Awake During Surgery!

Carol Weiher was having surgery on her right eye in 1988. The next thing she heard was "Cut deeper, pull harder." She wanted to scream, or move but the muscle relaxant she'd received prevented her from controlling her movements. Weiher is one of few people who have experienced anesthesia awareness. About one or two people in every 1,000 may wake up during general anesthesia, according to the Mayo Clinic. The surgical tools didn't cause Weiher pain just pressure, but the injections of the paralytic drug during the operation "felt like ignited fuel," she said. "I thought, well, maybe I've been wrong about my life, and I'm in hell," she said. When she awoke, she began to scream. All she could say was "I'm awake, I'm awake!!!" Ouch!

The Arizona Bill. Yes and No

I would have to say that the Arizona Bill is a good bill, but a bad bill. You know?? Well I do believe that it is wrong for people to cross the border without any papers and all, but they have their reasons. Believe me!!! This is America the land of opportunities, I guarantee you all illegal aliens want is a better life not harm anybody or anything. People think it is so easy to get papers and all, but its not you, could spend up to more than 20 years trying to get papers and still on the hope of by any chance receiving them. With so many laws theses days on immigrants its impossible.
I do believe it will cause racial profiling. Imagine all the people that would feel offended. I myself would feel offended if they arrest me just because of my looks and how I dress. What if they arrested my mom just because she doesn't speak any English. Carrying your papers everywhere is tough and if you lose them its a nightmare trying to regain them. You would have to go through a ton of paper work.
I don't think the bill should be compared to Nazi tactics. I think they over exaggerated. What the Nazis did is far more worse. Hopefully the Arizona Bill won't turn out like that.
I do think that other states will consider similar laws just because of whats been going on.

No Risks Taken!

I work as a pilot on the Getaway Airlines. Serving my clients and getting them home to their destinations is what makes me feel warm and heroic every time. After a mass volcanic eruption I was asked to go on some kind of a mission to test if flights could still continue. It was my destination to fly through the cloud of ash, but most important getting home SAFE. As I steered the plane my heart was pounding the whole way. I felt like if I was on a never ending plane crash. All you could see were massive destructive clouds of ash circling the plane. The clouds were punching the plane like a punching bag. The bumps and ash made it immpossible. We arrive and SAFE thanks to God, but no risks will be taken until the air is clear!

"Well, I was driving down town and stopped because I had gotten a red light. I noticed that the traffic was bad so I decided to search for a good song on my ipod. The green light finally appeared and I pressed the gas. All of a sudden a huge truck just came out of nowhere. That truck driver should have never gotten his drivers license. I was lucky I'm still alive to explain all these details!"

"I was in a rush because I was already and hour late from my destination. I hardly had any sleep they day before and was feeling very drowsy from the long drive. I saw that there was a lot of traffic and it was making me even more drowsy. The next thing I know I'm hearing cars honking at me like crazy! When I finally realized that I had been pushing a car for the last five minutes. Don't ever drive with no sleepy! Please!"

Courageous Women

Mother Teresa is a courageous women. At the age of twelve Mother Teresa, felt strongly the call of God. She knew she had to be a missionary to spread the love of Christ. She later vowed to become a nun. For over 45 years she ministered to the poor, sick, orphaned, and dying. She has been praised by many individuals, governments and organizations; however, she has also faced criticism, but she felt very strong with her beliefs and continued to help people.

Amelia Earhart is also another courageous woman. She was the first woman to receive the Distinguished Flying Cross award for becoming the first to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. If she had the guts to accomplish that then enough said!

Thank God for Diapers!

From my opinion and probably all women that have had kids, the greatest invention would have to be Diapers. I believe that diapers is the greatest invention because washing the "poop" off your baby's cloth diaper a millions times would be dreadful! Imagine a woman with lots kids! With the disposable diapers you can change your child's diaper right the second and wouldn't have to worry about the smell or the washing of poop! Marion Donovan freed the moms from hours of drudgery with the invention of disposable diapers. She invented the "Boater," in 1949. Nearly a decade later, in 1961, that Victor Mills drew upon Donovan's vision to create Pampers®.

I would invent a washer that could wash any kind of shoes without tearing them apart, or messing up their color and appearance. It would contain buttons from sandals all the way to super heavy duty boots. It would be very useful for girls that have so many shoes or even moms that have so many kids that are so clumsy and dirty their shoes like crazy! You could have your shoes shined, to even your husbands hard working boots scrubbed! All your shoes would look spotless clean and NEW!

Ugh! TAKS!

Dear TAKS Committee,
I think that the TAKS test is way too much pressure for a student. They shouldn't have to rely on a test to go to the next level. Just thinking about the pressure may make you even fail and not get to graduate. There should be end of course tests instead. It's just way to much pressure for not just the students, but also teachers!

Let the whale FREE!

In my opinion I believe that they should free the whale into the ocean where it can live in the wild. The poor whale is an animal and you can't blame him for what he did. I know it may cost a lot of money, but they shouldn't have imported the whale from British Columbia in the first place. After the incident in the 1970s it should of been a red flag to everyone. The whale didn't commit the accident, we did ourselves.

My Music!

1. What is your favorite song?
"Gracias a ti" Wisin y Yandel
2. What is your least favorite song?
"You're a Jerk" By New Boys

3. In your opinion, what is the cheesiest (yes, I am using that as a REAL word, and it has nothing to do with cheese) song of all time? (You might have to check with your parents on this one! There were a plethora of cheesy songs in the 80's.)
"How Low Can You Go" By Ludacris "How Low Can You Go" is all it says through the whole song! Ugh it annoying!
4. What song lyrics have you
belted out incorrectly? Tell me how you sang them! (If you don't want to admit your blunder, you can tell me what have heard others sing wrong.) If you know more than one, you can post them!
"Watcha Say" By Jason Derulo The song goes "Mmm that you only meant well" and I thought and said "Mmm that its only been Wednesday."
5. What song and/or artist do you think is WAY overrated?
Soulja Boy, I can't stand his music. All his music just repeats the same line over and over again. I don't even think you call it music!

Black History

Garrett Morgan invented the gas mask and the first traffic light. We should honor him because without him inventing the traffic light everyone would have wrecks!

Lonnie G. Johnson invented something that brought big smiles to millions of kids even today! He invented the SuperSoaker water gun!!! We should honor him for bringing lots joy to kids everywhere.

Dr. Daniel Hale Williams performed the first successful open heart surgery. We should honor him because he completed a task that involved a lot of courage and skill!

SuperBowl!

The Super Bowl is one of the most T.V. events being watched. In America football is very BIG thing and the Super Bowl couldn't be any BIGGER. Therefore any commercial being shown during the Super Bowl is going to be watched by millions of people and million$ of people means million$ of dollars as well. This is why companies are willing to spend up to 3 million dollars on a 30 second commercial! This year Tim Tebow, a celebrity, pro football player, and loved, or hated by many people is going to be on a commercial during the Super Bowl. Tim Tebow's commercial is about "Focus for the family". The fact that Tim's mom almost had an abortion and because she didn't he was born. Tim Tebow's commercial is becoming a great issue because of the religion situation. Of about Ninety-three million people that are going to be watching the Super Bowl are probably not all Christians. I hope they put the commercial because abortion should be banned. Abortion is just not right.

Haiti is a small country of about 10,714 square miles. In 2009 its population was 10,033,000. Roman Catholicism is the official religion of Haiti, but voodoo may be considered the country's national religion. The majority of Haitians believe in and practice at least some of voodoo.
A 7.0 earthquake just occurred on January 12, 2010 destroying the whole country, Haiti.
Because of the disastrous earthquake, most of Haiti people are homeless, dead, and in need of water, food, and supplies. Between 100,000 and 200,000 of lives have been claimed to be taken by the earthquake. With so many dead they do not have a enough space to bury them in, so instead they just threw them in holes and buried them in piles.
The orphanages in Port-au-Prince have been packed with children, and don't have enough room or people to help care for them. Many of the children are sick and have diseases, some of children are just living in the streets alone. The US is bringing them to Florida so they can be adopted. The US is also striving Medical help and supplies for the children.
Right now the Haitians are in need of water, food, medical supplies, almost anything! And fast! They lost everything and with the help of the US, Russia, China, United Nations, and more we can solve this problem. The US are sending soldiers, supplies and more. Russia sent doctors and China donated 4.4 million dollars.
Stars as well are making a difference too. Many famous people like Gisele Bundchen, the supermodel and a new mom wrote a $1 million check to the Red Cross Friday! Also the season 8 American Idol winner Tweeted a link to an American Idol fan Unicef page accepting donations.
The singer Wyclef Jean has already raised more than $1 million through his Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund. The NBA is also donating. There are much more making a difference and changing a Haitian's life one step at a time. This pictures makes me feel the pain and loss that they have to go through. This picture makes me feel sad because they have lost everything and start all over again.

Hall of Fame

Mark McGwire should be out of the Hall of Fame. Yea he confessed, but he should have said something in 2005! Why now when its way too late?? He cheated and does not deserve to be in the Hall of Fame along with all the other players that have done steroids. To be in the Hall of Fame is very honorable and he doesn't deserve at all.

The best for the Town.

To improve the town I would try to start a small donation center. Where people could bring anything they don't want and leave it there for people that actually need those things. It would help the people in need. The other thing would be to start a small tournaments of volleyball tennis or whatever at the park. That way teens could be active and have better things to do rather than partying or drinking.

New Years Resolutions

Resolutions are very common especially at this time of the year. People see that they could change their year at a good start. Maybe something bad happened the year before and they don't want for the new fresh year to end up just like the one before. A new year means a whole new fresh start. The most commonly resolution I think is probably to lose weight. Every year millions of people try all these different diets. Well since the new year is here they see that this could be their chance of starting something and actually trying to stick with it at a fresh start. I think that the reason for only a small amount of people that actually stick with their resolutions is because usually the resolutions are really big and can make a big difference in your life if you stick with them. Since the resolutions are so big they make it harder to stick with and they just give up. My three resolutions would be to have good grades, saving money, and happiness. Having good grades means a bright future with great oppurtunities. Saving money would mean I could finally raise enough for a car or something I really want. Having happiness is one of those most important. As long as I'm happy nothing much matters!
